Summer in Italy

Painting in Italy

This is a five week/ four credit painting course. We will travel to Venice, Padua, Rome, Florence, and other important sites in Italy. The rich artistic and cultural heritage of Italy will be experienced first-hand in numerous museums, churches, and archeological sites. When not on the road we will paint for 4 hours per day in and around the city of Ascoli Piceno. When traveling, work will be done in drawing and water media.
Prerequisites – Arts 532 Intro Drawing, Arts 546 Intro Painting
Participants are housed in comfortable apartments located within historic center of Ascoli Piceno.
The costs for the 2009 program are as follows:
$3,572 program fee for NH residents ($3,688 for non-NH residents) which covers tuition for 4 undergraduate credits (graduate credits will incur a higher program fee - $3,760 NH residents, $3,896 non-NH residents), housing, approximately two group meals per week, travel within Italy on program trips (including lodging on overnight trips), and entrance fees to selected museums
$40 application fee
$20 UNH summer registration
$15 UNH technology fee
The group airfare for 2009 has been pre-booked at $1216 subject to additional fees closer to flight time (arranged for all participants from Boston to Italy - students may also opt to make their own travel).
