Graduate Program - MFA in Painting
The studio program at UNH has an established reputation in training visual artists at the undergraduate level. UNH graduates with BFA degrees have regularly been admitted for over 25 years to America’s best graduate degree programs (Yale, Boston University, Indiana University, The Chicago Institute of Art, The School of Visual Arts in New York, Syracuse University, Brooklyn College). Many of our students have become active working, teaching, and exhibiting professional artists. Building upon this tradition, the MFA program in painting, established in 2000, is directed at students who are prepared to complete their professional training at the highest level.

Prospective students must submit 20 slides of recent work to be reviewed by the graduate faculty of the Department of Art and Art History along with undergraduate transcripts and three letters of recommendation.
